Education: All Performance Institute Strength and Conditioning Specialists have post-secondary education in the health, fitness and sport disciplines. In addition, all staff continually upgrade and earn various strength and conditioning certifications ensuring that they stay on the cutting edge of this ever changing industry.

People Skills: While a solid education is important, a good trainer must also have the skills to apply their knowledge in a manner that is relevant to clients. Our strength and conditioning specialists are adept at relating to, motivating, teaching, and listening to their clients. We strive to create a community in which clients look forward to not only the training at but also the social atmosphere at the Performance Institute.

Experience:

Athletic Background: Because we focus on athlete development, we hire staff that have themselves at one point been involved in high-performance athletics. Our trainers share their expertise with each other such that each Performance Institute strength and conditioning specialist is adept at creating programs that challenge all types of athletes in a manner specific to their sport.

Empathy with Frustration of Injury or Physical Limitations: Many of our trainers have also had personal experience with injury and therefore can relate to the challenges inherent to overcoming injury. They will work patiently with you to safely and as quickly as possible have you reach a level of performance that exceeds your pre-injury state. We are experienced working with athletic injuries, as well as ICBC and WCB claims.

In addition, we hire trainers who have the capacity to empathise with clients who are dealing with unique limitations whether it be physical disabilities or obesity. We are adept at finding unique ways to both challenge you and inspire you to reach for physical best.

Busy but balanced lifestyle: For some individuals, performance is not about a specific sport, but rather a way of life in their profession, family-life, personal health, and well being. At the Performance Institute, our trainers are familiar with the challenges of balancing a busy life and have had experience training corporate professionals, actors and actresses, and busy moms or dads.
