GOLF
Golf
and fitness have become synonymous. You need to look no further
than Tiger Woods to see how competitive golfers are using fitness
to improve their game. Understanding how the body works, and how
the systems of the body work together is key to the successful training
of the golf athlete. For PGA Tour Players and elite junior
golfers the Focus of the training is primarily for injury prevention,
mental toughness and most importantly, developing the body to better
perform the golf swing.
The
are a number of aspects to golf training that must be considered.
Golf
training should incorporate functional movements that challenge
balance, improve posture, and utilize the core. All the exercises
can be adjusted to make the exercise easier, or even challenge the
fittest athletes. Although some exercise machines may be incorporated,
this basic golf training doesn't require much equipment and almost
anyone can do it. The basic equipment requirements include a exercise
ball or piece of tubing and your own body weight. When it is understood
what needs to be trained and how to effectively target the movements
golf training will begin to reach the next level.
